THE BLACK HORSE in Stansted Village has become another pub victim to potential property development. The Stansted and Fairseat Parish Council are making an effort to try and save it by hosting pop up pub nights on the last Friday of each month in Stansted Village Hall from 7:30pm — 10:30pm with low cost drinks and a way of keeping a sense of social community in the village as well as providing regular updates from the steering group set up to save the pub. You can find out more on their website www.savetheblackhorse.co.uk. The next nights are on Friday 25th July and then Friday 29th August.
Farningham Parish Council are organising a Family Fun Day at Market Meadow on Wednesday 20th August, 10:30am — 1:30pm. Activities includes crafts, games and sports in a friendly and safe environment. Simply turn up on the day with waterproof clothing and/or sunscreen (this is during the great British summertime!) and your own refreshments.
