Dear Readers and Advertisers

February, the month of love! St Valentine’s Day comes slap in the middle on the 14th when millions of cards are exchanged and bouquets of flowers delivered. It is incredible what a florist can do in the middle of winter when producing such wonderful blooms. If it is bit chilly then the flowers last for ages, but when all is said and done it is the sentiment that counts. Love makes the World go round and that must be true. Being neighbourly and friendly to those around you and with whom you mix is surely better than being hateful, spiteful, rude or indifferent. It really ought to be the only New Year resolution and the easiest to keep ~ be nice to everyone.

Remember to enter the February Wordsearch competition. The prize this month is LUNCH OR DINNER FOR 2 PEOPLE AND WINE AT THE HILLTOP RESTAURANT, STANSTED, courtesy of DAREN. Entry deadline is 14th February. The winner of the GRANITE CHOPPING BOARD AND CHEESE BOARD valued at £100 courtesy of WRIGHT STONE, special-ists in Granite, Quartz and Marble worktops based in MEOPHAM in the January Wordsearch competition is ELIZABETH HART of WEST KINGSDOWN. The missing word being SLIPPERY.

Battersea Brands Hatch are looking for foster homes for some of their cats and dogs who really do struggle with life in the cattery or kennels. These animals arrive at Battersea because their owners cannot look after them anymore or they can also reach them as strays. Either way they do not cope with being away from a home environment. If you think you could offer a temporary home to either a cat or dog contact them at BrandsHatchFostering@battersea.org.uk. Check out their website www.battersea.org.uk which shows many ways of helping raise much needed funds for our four legged friends and details of how you can become a volunteer too! Remember February is the month of love and what better way then to give some love to a poor homeless pet. The reward is tenfold!
