Dear Advertisers & Readers

WOW. What a fantastic show the whole of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations were. It really did make you feel proud! Pageantry and patriotism - did you get swept along in the excitement of the Celebrations? Many thousands of us held street parties, watched the events on TV, or travelled up to London to stand on the Mall and soak up the atmosphere for ourselves. It was just fabulous to be able to have a party with friends and family celebrating our Queen of 70 years and the weather was kind too.

After 2 years of no exams for students and parents, this year has seen the return of the end of year exam. Whether it be GCE’s, AS levels or A levels as well as University exams We are sure our students have worked extremely hard to get the grades they deserve. So then they can look forward to the end of the Summer term where family’s can finally take a well earned holiday either in one of our many beautiful destinations or further afield abroad. But with the threat of cabin crew strikes looming, will any of us reach our planned destinations?

But to keep you occupied at home there is plenty going on. The biggest outdoor event in our county is the Kent County Show at Detling from Friday 8th July — Sunday 10th July. The Hop Farm at Paddock Wood is open all through the summer holidays with lots of activities for all. Or perhaps visit Eagle Heights Wildlife Foundation in Eynsford, with Bird displays, Alpaca Trekking, Husky Hiking or Meerkat experiences to name but a few.

Now we are in July and the thoughts and strategies of our advertisers turn to the Summer season. Please don’t hesitate to call us on 01322 911875 or 07764 183140 or email us at thevillageadvertiser@aol.co.uk for information on our offers or to book a space — we are always happy to help.
